Training Advice for the Over 40s: Train Smart, Stay Strong

Training advice
Train Smart. Stay Strong. Live Well.

My approach to training for the over 40s is built on the experience, discipline and resilience I developed serving as a Paratrooper and Falklands veteran.

The same principles that shaped me during my military service now form the foundation of every fitness and strength training programme I deliver.

This is not about extreme workouts or punishing routines. It is about building strength, resilience and long-term health through consistency, structure and sustainable progress, the kind of training that keeps you fit, mobile and confident for life.

Whether you are over 40, improving your fitness and rebuilding confidence, or younger and committed to leading a longer, healthier life, the principles of smart strength training stay the same:

  • train smart

  • stay consistent

  • prioritise recovery

  • build habits that last for life

As an online & in-person personal trainer working with clients in Warwick and across the UK, here are 8 practical training tips for the over 40s to help you get started.
